- Athens County is home to a 19-miles long bicycle trail, the HockHocking Adena Bikeway, that will take you from the East-end of Athens to Nelsonville, and back, following an old rail-line through the countryside.
- Several state parks (including: Hocking Hills, Burr Oak, and Lake Hope) and the Wayne National Forest are also within close range of Sand Ridge Bed and Breakfast, parks which maintain a variety of year-round trails and activities for our outdoor enthusiast visitors.
